We also use Ahrefs Web Analytics and Cloudflare Web Analytics, and run our own first-party measurement. These record only the page you viewed and the page you arrived from. None of them sets a cookie, and none of them builds a profile of you across other sites.

Grow by Mediavine is different from everything above and we want to be plain about it. Grow stores information on your device and uses it to recognize you as a returning reader, including across other websites in Mediavine’s network. Under California and several other state privacy laws this counts as a sale or share of personal information. You can stop it entirely at Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information, which prevents the Grow script from loading for you at all, and we honor the Global Privacy Control browser signal automatically.

On a first visit, Grow sets one first-party cookie, growme_version, which holds the version of its own script and expires after about thirty minutes. If you create a Grow reader account or use its save and follow features, it stores more in order to remember you, and it can recognize you on other websites in Mediavine’s network. Mediavine also sets its own cookies on faves.grow.me, which are outside our control; their Legal and Privacy Center covers those.

5. Local storage
